Established in 2011, Women and Information Society is a non-profit Armenian organization that aims to empower women and girls in Armenia through information and communication technologies helping them integrate them in the information society in Armenia. NGO activities are aimed at increasing women’s and girls’ participation in education, workforce, entrepreneurship, and leadership in ICT and related sectors. The organization has got many partners with various stakeholders from private and public sectors (local and international), : International Telecommunication Union (ITU), European Union, the UN Armenia Office, US Embassy, USAID, AGBU, European Centre for Women and Technology, Asian Development Bank (ADB), Cisco, the National Institute of Education of the Republic of Armenia, the American University of Armenia, AIWA SF, the Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies (UEICT), Synopsys Armenia Company, “Unicomp” Company, Enterprise Incubator Foundation, Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Center (SME DNC), IDram, PEM Consult, VivaCell, the National Center of Educational Technologies, the Arm-Indian Center for Excellence.
