Technovation girls Armenia 2023 Award Ceremony
On June 30, 2023, the closing ceremony of the "Technovation Girls, Armenia 2023" season organized by "Women and Information Society" was held at the "Ani Plaza" hotel.
Technovation is the world's largest technology entrepreneurship competition for girls aged 8-18. The goal of the program is to inspire and empower young girls to become innovators and leaders in solving problems in their communities through the entrepreneurship and technological knowledge gained through the program.
Narine Abazian, President of "Women and the Information Society" NGO, Project Managers Ruzanna Stepanyan and Ani Manukyan delivered the opening speeches at the "Technovation Girls Armenia 2023" award ceremony.
The teams that participated online in the "Technovation Girls, Armenia 2023" competition presented their applications and received prizes from the AMD Company.
SR Software manager of AMD company Astghik Poghosyan highlighted participation of girls in the program and presented the Grand Prize award to the ArmFem team, school N116 in Yerevan for the “Safe Childhood” application. The attendees were also informed about the team's unprecedented achievement this year: the team was declared the winner, taking the first place with the Safe Childhood application in competition "Social Innovation to Restart Human Rights", organized by the European Union. The participants watched a video about the team’s success story.
Lusine Tangyan, Director of Business Development of the Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies (UEICT), Gayane Stepanyan, Head of the Digital Services Department of Ararat Bank, and Narek Mamikonyan, Senior Programmer of AMD Company, shared valuable advice with the teams.

We are happy to announce that AMD Armenia Tech Company is going to organize a series of meetings with Technovation Girls, Armenia teams to share the organization's success stories, run introductory training, and encourage young girls’ involvement in ITC. Emphasizing the support for regional school teams, the first meeting was organized on November 7, at N.1 school of Noratus village, Gegharkunik marz. Thanks to the school administration for hospitality. AMD Armenia company staff, Women and Information Society NGO representatives, and six teams from Gegharkunik region, which received awards in various categories at the Technovation Girls, Armenia 2022 award ceremony, led by mentors attended the event. The attendees listened with interest to the history of the establishment and development of AMD Company. The teams received answers to many questions interested them. At the meeting, the teams also introduced their products, emphasizing the importance of implementing the ideas in communities, as well as the role of Technovation Girls Armenia program in further professional orientation. The students answered the questions of the attendees and listened to useful and constructive advice provided by AMD company staff.

On November 3, 2022, Salesforce company representatives; Aishwarya and Shweta had an online meeting with Technovation girls, Armenia team. Salesforce representatives conducted a brief master class on "Project Management" with the participants, and discussed further cooperation, in the framework of which basic toolkit for project management will be presented to Technovation Girls, Armenia teams and mentors. During the fruitful discussion, an agreement was reached to organize the meeting in January 2023. Technovation girls, Armenia team made recommendations to make upcoming (January 2023) master class and further cooperation more tangible.

Today, Kotayk regional television hosted the participants of the Technovation Girls Armenia 2022, teacher and vice-principal of the school named after Razmik Davoyan in Geghashen, Iskuhi Asatryan and student Diana Manukyan.
This year, the beginners team from Geghashen school participated in Technovation Girls Armenia 2022 and was awarded an award in community development category.

Girls in ICT International Day Online Celebration

Girls in ICT International Day celebration is an ITU (International Telecommunication Union) initiation, which is a global movement to encourage and empower young girls and women to integrate into ICT and become, change agents.
This international day is celebrated in the fourth month, fourth week and fourth day every year.
Since 2012, Women and Information Society NGO has been the initiator of Girls in ICT celebration in Armenia. Every year high officials in ICT from Armenia and abroad, role models, experts and guests participation in the celebration. April 28, 2022 Girls in ICT Day was officially celebrated in Armenia in an online format. 2022 theme/slogan was;
Access and Safety.
More than 400 schoolgirls and mentors, from different regions of Armenia, from remote and border villages, took part in the celebration.
The event was organized by Women and Information Society NGO.
The Video message of Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Director, BDT, ITU officially opened the event.
Women and Information society NGO head Narine Abazian made an opening speech.
Distinguished guests took part in the event: Razmik Panossian, the Director of the Department of Armenian Communities for the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and Eduard Musayelyan, Executive Director at Union of Employers of Information and Communication Technologies. The guests greeted and wished great success to the schoolgirls and mentors.
The guests and organizers stressed the importance of the theme of the day and the opportunity for the participation of schoolgirls from remote areas, as well as stressed the importance for the active participation of girls and women in building a strong and safe information society.
67 semi-finalist teams of schoolgirls with the help of organizers; Ani Manukyan, Ruzan Stepanyan and moderators; Narek Mamikonyan and Tamara Hovhannisyan, presented their ideas for mobile applications and Artificial Intelligence Prototypes, that they had developed in the frame of Technovation Girls, Armenia 2022.

In the scope of Technovation Girls, Armenia 2022 program a series of masterclases started for teams and mentors. Every year meetings with experts enliven the program.
2022, April 15 an online meeting was organised with AraratBank Digital banking services department head Gayane Stepanyan. Mrs. Stepanyan introduced mobile application improvements in Armenian banking sphere and namely chnages in Araratbank and shared with tips for the teams how to make their mobile aplications more functional and user-friendly.

Future Voice junior team mentor Lala Khurshudyan speaks about the role Technovation Girls, Armenia played in creation of Be Safe mobile application (it teaches people how to behave at earthquakes), Grand Prix the team got for the idea in Technovation Girls Armenia 2021 Award ceremony, further improvements and success and future plans at the interview for Radio Van.
2022 March 16, Talin high school held «Be Safe» mobile application official presentation. The app is made to teach earthquake correct behaviour patterns. The event was organised as an open lesson with an active discussion affer.

The project is pilot and aims to extend the experience in Talin and beyond its borders.

The meeting was divided into two sections; the story of the application creation was presented by Laura Avagyan abd Lala Khurshudyan: The idea of the mobile application was cultivated when Future Voice was registered for Technovation Girls, Armenia 2021 and the motif was the earthquake in 2021: The application won grand priz at Technovation Girls, Armenia 2021 among junior teams.
After the competition has been updated: design, tasks and a game was added.
Since 2021 the mobile application has been in Google Play Market.
After the interactive presentation, th gustes expressed their ideas and came up with suggesions and wished the initiators good luck in their future endeavors.
Narine Abazian thanked the organisers of the event in the name of the principal of Talin hight school Anna Knyazyan, and event coordinator Lala Khurshudyan and offered her help in spreading the idea in all the regions of Armenia.
The idea of the same mobile application was presented in Social Impact Award, Armenia 2021 international competiton administered by Impact Hub, Yerevan and won the second place and consultation from Impact Hub Armenia head Gevorg Poghosyan.

Տեխնովացիա աղջիկներ Հայաստան 2021 թ․ մրցաշարում ավագ ու կրտսեր հաղթող թիմերի մենթորները հնարավորություն ստացան մասնակցելու Java և Android դասընթացին, որը կազմակերպել էր Կանայք և տեղեկատվական հասարակությունը հ/կ, Ֆինլանդիայի արտաքին գործերի նախարարության դրամաշնորհի ֆինանսավորմամբ։
Դասընթացն իրականացրեց Code School ուսումնական կենտրոնը։

«Կանայք և տեղեկատվական հասարակությունը» ՀԿ-ն և “Technovation” ընկերությունը հայտարարում են աշխարհի խոշորագույն տեխնոլոգիական ձեռներեցության “Technovation Girls” ծրագրի հայաստանյան “Տեխնովացիա Աղջիկներ Հայաստան 2022” մրցաշրջանի սկիզբը:
Մեծ սիրով հրավիրում ենք Երևանի և ՀՀ բոլոր մարզերի, ինչպես նաև Արցախի ինֆորմատիկայի ուսուցիչներին, աշակերտուհիներից կազմված թիմերով մասնակցելու “Տեխնովացիա Աղջիկներ Հայաստան 2022” ծրագրին:
“Տեխնովացիա Աղջիկներ” միջազգային մրցույթը՝ Technovation շահույթ չհետապնդող կազմակերպության ծրագիրն է, որը նպատակ է հետապնդում ոգեշնչել ու հզորացնել աղջիկներին դառնալու նորարարներ և առաջնորդներ իրենց համայնքներում՝ լուծելով իրենց համայնքի խնդիրները, օգտագործելով ծրագրի շրջանակում ձեռք բերած տեխնոլոգիական ձեռներեցության գիտելիքներն ու հմտությունները: “Technovation Girls” միջազգային ծրագիրը հովանավորվում է Google, Intel, Salesforce, Adobe, Verizon, LinkedIn, Oracle, Yahoo, CA Technologies, Lemann Foundation, AVG Technologies, SAP eBay ընկերությունների կողմից:
Մինչ այսօր Հայաստանի բոլոր մարզերից 408 թիմեր, ավելի քան 2088 աշակերտուհիներ, 408 ինֆորմատիկայի ուսուցիչներ/մենթորներ են մասնակցել Տեխնովացիա Հայաստան ծրագրին։
2017 թվականից սկսած ավելի քան 186 հավելված է ստեղծվել հայաստանյան թիմերի կողմից, 19 հավելվածներ տեղադրվել են Google Play Market-ում։ Ծրագրի և նախորդ տարիներին ծրագրի մասնակիցների հաջողությունների հետ կարող եք ծանոթանալ Հավելված 1–ում:
“Տեխնովացիա Աղջիկներ Հայաստան” մրցույթին կարող են մասնակցել 8-ից 18 տարեկան աշակերտուհիները։ Նրանք կձևավորեն մինչև հինգ անդամից կազմված թիմեր՝ որը կունենա մենթոր/մենթորներ ( ինֆորմատիկայի, տեխնոլոգիայի կամ այլ առարկայի ուսուցիչ):
“Technovation” ծրագրով նախատեսվում է 12 շաբաթյա ուսուցում, որի ընթացքում աշակերտուհիները կսովորեն բացահայտել, վեր հանել որևէ սոցիալական խնդիր իրենց համայնքում ու ստեղծել բջջային հավելված՝ հիմնահարցին լուծում տալու համար։ Աղջիկները կսովորեն պլանավորել, զարգացնել ու իրականացնել ամբողջական բիզնես մոդել ու տեխնոլոգիական արտադրանք։
մասնակիցների տարիքը 2022թվ-ի օգոստոսի 1–ին չպետք է գերազանցի 18-ը։
Ձեր մասնակցությունը հաստատելու համար, խնդրում ենք լրացնել կից մասնակցության հայտը (հավելված 2) և ուղարկել girlsinictarmenia@gmail.com հասցեին մինչև 2021թ-ի դեկտեմբերի 28–ը:

In 2021, Technovtion Girls Armenia made a stride. The grant provided by the Ministry of Foreign Ministry of Finland, gave the regional competition winners and the teams having received prizes in various nomination a chance to improve the design of their applications in the frame of a training series on Product design to install the applications in Google Market Place. Women and Information society NGO organized the initiation.

We are glad to inform you that from September to October 2021, with Women and Information Society NGO intiation and the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Technovation Girls 2021 regional competiton winners and the teams that won prizes in various nominations, had a series of training-consultatiton on Product design to improve the mobile applications before installing them in Play Market. Over 18 teams particiated in the training series.
